I mean its about time isnt it? Everywhere you go at every event your the oldest person there. All these young kids stare at you and give you the "look at the old dude look". These kids were in diapers when we started riding, they were babies and we got them started. We pushed them around on their bikes, ran beside them on their dirtbikes and picked them up when they fell, and cried.
Today, the sports on two wheels we help build thrives. We did this, and its about damn time somebody stood up and rewarded and recognized those that did when they could. Fogriderrz is about you and me.
Im 46. I started riding Dirtbikes when I was in the 5th grade. A piece of junk Briggs and Stratton engine on a steal tube frame. I ran the piss out of that thing until I "upgraded" to my Honda Mini-trail 50. I thought I died and gone to heaven. Ive had a motorcycle always every year of my life since then and ill never be without. My first real "mountainbike" was in 1982. Full suspension, and disc brakes were'nt even a concept then. These were hardtails with big tires. I rode where ever I could, mostly hiking trails. People swore at me, yelled and share the trail was an abstract concept. I did it anyway and loved it.
Ive had more steroid shots than I can count, more bruises than I can remember and more stories that a lifetime couldn't retell, so have you or you would have stopped reading 3 paragraphs ago. Welcome home brother...your a FOGRIDER. One of those F**kn old guy riderz that built what you now enjoy.
Ill reward your energy, your age and your weight with discounts. The more the better. If your one of those 19year old skinny dudes...full retail baby. For the rest the spoils, and the discounts.
I wont make a fortune at this guys, so the more people you tell, the cheaper I'll make it if I can make it up on volume. Lets band together and start being proud of who we are, after all, we bought and paid for our beer guts didn't we?
Send me your stories, your success and failures. Sometime down the rode Ill publish them on the site for all to read so we can all pay silent tribute to those that did when they could. We ride because we can and because we cant stop, we never will. Welcome aboard!
See you on the trails...
